Yasin Cengiz became internet-famous for doing something that sounds almost impossible to explain with a straight face: dancing while making his stomach bounce to “Dom Dom Yes Yes.”
And then, because this is TikTok, millions of people understood the assignment immediately.
Who Is Yasin Cengiz?
Yasin Cengiz is a Turkish TikTok creator best known for the belly-bouncing dance he paired with Bulgarian artist Biser King’s “Dom Dom Yes Yes.” His account was active by March 2021, before that song became the soundtrack most associated with him.
The important part is the timeline, not a pile of follower counts that will be stale by the time you finish reading this sentence.
How “Dom Dom Yes Yes” Became His Thing
By April 2022, Cengiz was posting the dance with “Dom Dom Yes Yes,” and the combination took off. Other creators copied it, parodied it and turned it into a reusable internet format.
That is basically the lifecycle of a TikTok trend: one person does something weird enough to be memorable, 40,000 other people do their own version, and suddenly your uncle is asking why everyone is saying “yes yes.”

The Restaurant Videos Were Part of the Format
Many of Cengiz’s videos show him dancing around food, restaurants and other people. Those settings became part of the visual joke and helped make the dance instantly recognizable.
What we are not going to do is pretend every restaurant appearance was a documented paid endorsement. The older version of this article did exactly that without solid sourcing. Seeing a creator inside a restaurant is not the same thing as having the contract in a filing cabinet.
The 2023 Death Rumor Was False
After the devastating February 2023 earthquakes in Turkey and Syria, a false rumor spread online claiming Cengiz had died.
Contemporary reporting on the rumor documented it as a hoax, and Cengiz continued posting afterward.
This was the particularly ugly side of viral fame: a real disaster became fuel for fake celebrity-death posts because apparently the internet occasionally looks at basic human decency and clicks “not interested.”
What We Actually Know — and What We Don’t
The earlier version of this story confidently described Cengiz as coming from a modest farming family in Istanbul and treated several biographical details as settled fact.
Those claims are repeated by low-quality biography sites, but reliable sourcing is inconsistent. So they are gone.
What can be said with much more confidence is simpler: Cengiz is a Turkish creator whose dance videos began circulating in 2021, whose “Dom Dom Yes Yes” routine became a major meme in 2022, and whose fame generated copycats, parodies and, unfortunately, a false death rumor in 2023.
Why Did the Dance Get So Big?
Because it is extremely easy to recognize.
You do not need dialogue. You do not need context. You barely need sound. You see the movement, hear the song, and your brain immediately knows which corner of the internet you have wandered into.
That kind of visual shorthand is social-media rocket fuel.
